August has been a bit of a break for us on the filming front, though that hasn’t stopped us from keeping busy behind the scenes, with plenty going on in the editing department and finalising some great project content for our clients!

The solar eclipse also made for an exciting day, with everyone scrambling to get their hands on a pair of glasses – although with them selling out everywhere, it felt like we were all going to have to risk our eyesight just to get a glimpse! Some well deserved annual leave was taken this month too, so it feels like a real reset for the CFC team as we settle into our new office. We're really looking forward to seeing what September brings, but for now, here are a few of the recent projects we’ve been working on and some of which have now been released and are ready to watch!

DAIR

Pete took on a two-day solo job with Dair in Cheltenham, where he filmed multiple interviews with sports psychologist Chris Priestley who has worked with some of the world's top sportsmen and women. It was a really interesting couple of days, offering some great insight into the psychological side of sport and the importance of mindset and performance. It is always a pleasure to work alongside the Dair team.

GBR - Harry Clark & Rossa Ryan Golf Day

First up on our list of completed projects is the Harry Clark and Rossa Ryan Golf Day which we filmed for Great British Racing. Who says interviews have to happen in front of a camera? For this one, Harry caught up with flat jockey Rossa Ryan during a round of golf at the Lingfield Park Course. It’s a light-hearted watch with some interesting insight into Rossa’s career, plenty of laughs and perhaps most importantly, some entertaining golf!

It was a really enjoyable shoot to be a part of and we’re pleased with how the finished video has come together. Check out the link below to watch the full interview:

Jack Berry: The Heart of the IJF

One of our favourite shoots from June has now gone live, which is of course, the video we made with Jack Berry for Mackcontent on behalf of the Injured Jockeys’ Fund. Jack is a huge character in racing and has dedicated so much of his life to supporting injured jockeys and raising money for the IJF, where he serves as Vice President. We spent the morning filming around Jack’s home, which is packed with memorabilia from his incredible life in racing, making it a fascinating place to capture. Jack shared plenty of stories and gave us a real insight into his life, career and the work he continues to do for the IJF. It was a really special shoot to be part of and one that the team thoroughly enjoyed.

Old Gold Racing x Tony Carroll

The latest video for Old Gold Racing is now ready to watch, featuring all weather Champion Trainer, Tony Carroll. We spent the day at Tony’s yard filming an in-depth catch-up between Old Gold Racing’s CEO Ed Seyfried and Tony, chatting about his record-breaking seasons, his career in racing and getting an insight into life at his base in Cropthorne. Tony’s achievements speak for themselves, having been Champion All Weather Trainer for the last two seasons and training 100 winners during that time. It was great to hear more about his career, his approach to training and what goes on behind the scenes at his yard.

Pinchin Collection

I rounded off the month in the Cotswolds with a photo shoot for Lilly to showcase her Pinchin Collection’s latest launch. This is a really lovely selection of autumn pieces which will be available to purchase very soon, just in time for the turning weather!

Looking Ahead

Emily and I headed out to France for a holiday with our friends Will and Annabel. Will and his family have a house in the south of France, and I’d been meaning to visit for years, so it was great to finally make it out there. The house is in a stunning, incredibly remote location, surrounded by huge valleys, rolling hills and vast stretches of woodland, with clear rivers winding their way through the landscape. The nearest big town is Millau, famous for its spectacular viaduct, but even that is about 40 miles away, so we really were in the middle of nowhere. We spent a lot of our time swimming in the rivers, cooking good food, drinking plenty of wine and playing cards late into the evening. It was exactly the kind of break we needed... peaceful, beautiful and a world away from everyday life. We had an absolutely brilliant time.

On the racing front, I’ve also had two runners this month. Mademoiselle Belle ran at Lingfield on 18th August, and it was lovely to spend a Tuesday at the races rather than in the office! Although the result wasn’t quite what we were hoping for, she came home well and sound, which is all you can ask for.

Billyboi Blue also made his return to fences at Worcester on 23rd August. It was great to see him building his confidence back up again and although he didn’t manage another win, he ran really well. Hopefully, we can get another run into him before winter and keep that confidence growing.

Brooke's August has been all go from start to finish. Kicking off with O'Neill Racing's owners day where she got to slope off for some cuddles with Richie's Cheltenham winning partner, Johnywho. Next it was her Irish road trip, starting in Galway and touring along the west coast down to Dingle before winding up back in Dublin for the RDS. From what I've heard, it sounded like a pretty special holiday consisting of late night live music in bars, sightseeing, boat trips and plenty of Mr Whippy's and service station chicken rolls along the way! A baby shower and a few well hosted bbq’s later, her month finished up back in Ireland for a big wedding in Killarney, which also looked like a lot of fun!

Pete has been kept pretty busy this month, both in and out of the office! He and his partner, Leanne, worked together at a wedding, with Pete on photography and Leanne creating really beautiful reels and content for the bride and groom- a great duo! As well as working, Pete has also attended a few weddings over the past few weeks as a guest. August certainly seems to be the month for marriage this year!

Billie had a relatively chilled time outside of the CFC office, between babysitting her nieces and looking after an 8-month-old puppy! It was also great to have her join us celebrating Emily’s 30th, where we got seriously competitive over a few games of beer pong.

Amelia has had a slightly quieter month away from work, making the most of some downtime before jetting off to Marbella in just two weeks! August has been all about exploring new places with her little basset hound, Lulu and soaking up the last of the lovely British summertime!
