It’s been a hugely busy September for us at CFC with us filming almost every day throughout the month, a position which we’re extremely grateful to be in.
Away from work, Pete and I kicked off the month in the best way, heading to the golf course for Fergal O’Brien’s annual Golf Day. It’s always such a great day, raising money to support the Injured Jockeys Fund and catching up with plenty of familiar faces.
Our team finished up in 2nd place. We managed to beat Brooke’s partner, Richie’s team by just one place and half a point, so there was definitely some friendly competition going on. Richie did have something to celebrate though, as he won the longest drive on one of the holes and took home a bottle of champagne, which I’m sure Brooke will be more than happy to enjoy!
Golf aside, here’s what we’ve been up to…
SANS
After we picked up our 2nd place prize, we drove straight down to London that evening ahead of our first shoot of the month in Canary Wharf for SANS, and what an incredible filming location it was! We’ve worked with James Lyne and the team for many years now and it really is always such a pleasure. The panoramic views across London made for a pretty amazing backdrop and the SANS team kindly put on a great spread for lunch, which is always a bonus!
It was also lovely to work with Poppy for the first time, who is a fantastic presenter and really great to work with. As always, the SANS team were brilliant and we had a really enjoyable day getting some great content in the bag.
CORNBURY HOUSE HORSE TRIALS
We then headed off for four days of filming at the Cornbury House Horse Trials. It was such a beautiful change of scenery and we were spoilt for choice with nice angles to film. There were plenty of seriously high-level riders competing across the event along with a number of Royal’s in attendance.
Brooke was amazing at helping organise everything and her background in this sphere definitely came in handy throughout the four days! It was also lovely to work with Georgie and Harriet again. We also had Ben Pankhurst, Holly Styler and Zara Best working alongside us, which made the four days even more enjoyable.
Overall, it was a brilliant few days and we managed to create some really lovely content for the event itself as well as some of their partners.
KERR OFFICE GROUP
We were back filming with KERR Office Group, it was really nice to return to the building and see it now that the work has been completed. It was great to see the transformation and how much it had changed since we were last there, giving us a chance to capture the finished space properly.
Pete had a bit of a nightmare on the way in though, after being stopped by the police for accidentally going down the wrong lane! So, after another trip driving through London, it’s safe to say Pete has had enough of London roads for the time being!
RAPPOR SUMMER PARTY
Pete headed down to the M-Shed in Bristol to film Rappor’s summer party, which he’s been doing for the past five years! It’s always so nice to see how much the company and the team have grown over that time and it’s been great to be part of the celebrations year after year. The M-Shed was a brilliant location for the event and made for a great backdrop for the filming.
Unfortunately, Pete had to head off before the after-party kicked off, so he missed out on the celebrations later in the evening - maybe next year!
OGR x OLLY MURPHY
Next, it was off to Warren Chase Stables to film for Old Gold Racing. This was our second day filming Mister Des Places, following on from the video we filmed of him at Charlie Mann’s a few months back. It’s always lovely to catch up with Olly and his team. It’s an incredibly well run operation and a yard which we really enjoy visiting.
It was also the perfect opportunity for us to drop off our first batch of CFC bobble hats for the year, which is exciting!
WELLCHILD AWARDS
We’ve been lucky enough to work on the WellChild Awards for a good few years now and every year it’s exciting to see which celebrities will be in attendance. This year, Peter Andre performed five songs and it was also great to see Prince Harry spending time meeting the children and their families before the event.
One of the best parts of the evening is hearing the incredible stories from the children and their families. It’s always incredibly inspiring and really puts into perspective just how special the WellChild Awards are.
Billie was on-site editing, while Pete and Danny were capturing content, so we had the same team back together again this year. It’s a team that works so well together and everything always seems to fall into place perfectly. A huge thank you to WellChild for having us back again. It really is such a special event to be part of.
It was a long one, we finally made it back to base in Cheltenham at around 1:40am.. Definitely worth the late night!
PERTH
There was no rest for the wicked as Pete and I headed up to Perth the following morning ahead of two big days at their Glorious Finale on Wednesday and Thursday. After the long journey north, we were ready for a busy couple of days at the track.
This was our final filming trip to Perth for 2026, so it was a great way to round off what has been a brilliant season covering their summer fixtures. It was brilliant to be back at Perth, capturing content around the course and keeping their social channels updated throughout both days.
The atmosphere across the two-day finale was fantastic, with plenty going on both on and off the track. It was also lovely to see some familiar faces, including members of Fergal O’Brien’s team, as well as catching up with some of Kim Bailey’s team. It’s always nice to see familiar faces throughout the season and build those relationships along the way.
It was a pleasure working with the team up there. Perth always makes us feel incredibly welcome, and it was a fantastic way to finish our filming for the year. We’ve loved covering their summer fixtures and are already looking forward to heading back north next season!
REDMILLS - Lambourn Filming
Pete and I arrived back at the office after a long drive home from Perth ready for a quick turnaround before meeting Brooke to head down to Lambourn that evening. We were up and out the following morning to arrive at Toby Lawes’ new base and then onto Jamie Snowden’s. This is a really exciting project for Redmills who we have previously worked with, so it was great to reconnect with them. We were also joined by Alan Johns to present the episodes who is a real pro to work with.
Adam and Emma from Redmills seriously know their stuff and clearly have great relationships with the yards they supply which made for a very successful day filming. We’re certainly looking forward to seeing the content come together!
We’ve made the move away from GoPro and have started using the DJI Osmo Action cameras. I’m yet to be fully convinced of them, however the battery life is way better. Lambourn was the first place we tested them and I'm going to work on a few things to improve the system in future, let's just leave it there…
OGR x Jamie Snowden & Mick Fitzgerald
Lucky for Jamie, he got to see us twice in one week as we headed back down to film with him and the team at Old Gold Racing! This time, we were there to film some content for their exciting new horse, Leonato.
Old Gold Racing has quite a few horses coming into the jump season, so there’s plenty to look forward to over the next few months. If you haven’t already, make sure you go and take a look at what they’ve got coming up there’s lots to get excited about!
REDMILLS - Dan Skelton Filming AND Rappor, Cheltenham
The final day of the month saw the team divided into two, with Pete heading off to film for Rappor again, only this time it was to capture interviews with some of their CEO’s at a space local to us in Cheltenham.
Myself and Brooke, joined by Zara Best, went in the opposite direction to round off our last day of filming for Redmills’ latest project at Dan Skelton Racing. We came away with some incredible content with both Dan and Harry. It is a star-studded yard which we always really enjoy working in and we can’t wait to see this episode come together.
Looking Ahead
In my time off I’ve been buying a house, we are moving closer to completion now so hopefully all goes smoothly. There will be lots of work to do and it’s lucky that I know so many talented tradies because DIY wouldn’t be my strong point.
Pete got to watch our beloved Cheltenham Town play at home, alongside one of our good friends and fellow music lover, Martyn from The Independent Record Shop! Martyn was my first boss, I used to work weekend shifts in his shop when I was 16. We’ve had many laughs over the years at the football, golf courses and at the races.
Pete and Leanne have also been back out filming some wedding content, keeping them busy over the weekends. They’ve even managed to book themselves a holiday, so there’s something to look forward to, they’re off to Madeira in November! Hopefully, Pete can finally put the camera down for a few days!
Billie had a lovely week off, spending time relaxing, going on some nice walks, catching up with friends and family and making the most of some pub trips! It was also great to have her join us at the WellChild Awards, where she was on-site editing and she even managed to sneak in and watch Peter Andrea before Mysterious Girl came on!
Brooke’s September has consisted of home renovations, catching up with friends and still plenty of BBQ’s before the weather turns! Richie had a few involuntary days of no racing after a fall, which I think Brooke secretly made the most of before he disappears into the depths of winter racing!
Amelia has had a lovely break from work, making the most of some well-deserved time off in sunny Marbella! The week has been spent relaxing on the beach, trying some lovely local food, spotting turtles and heading out on a dolphin safari - although sadly, the dolphins clearly had other plans! It sounded like a lovely week of sunshine, good food and plenty of fun along the way!
