Another month flies by. What was looking like a reset, edit and regroup month ended up being another that was full of shoots. This year has flown by and you know what they say: time flies when you’re having fun.

Winter is well and truly here, temperatures have plummeted and we’ve finally had some rain at long last!

Chris Gordon Racing

The month started with a trip to Winchester to film at the yard of Chris Gordon. This was for Old Gold Racing and Plumpton Racecourse. We hadn’t been to Chris’ yard for a few years, so it was nice to go back. We got to meet Rodney, the Great Dane — what a big softy. Chris and his team do rather well with the horses they have and are particularly hard to beat at Plumpton!

BBC Bitesize

Filming the BBC Bitesize maths modules has been an ongoing job for the past couple of months. We had another day in Bristol recording in Qu Studio and everything went smoothly. City life really isn’t for me (Louis), but Pete and Billie actually went to university there. A home from home?

GBR x ROR - Molly Sherring

The ROR provides so many opportunities for racehorses after they retire. Molly Sherring and Not At Present have had so many successes together off the track, winning three times up at Aintree’s national championships. We went to Molly’s yard in the Cotswolds to film a feature on her and ‘Neil’. This then led on to the ROR parade at Cheltenham during the Paddy Power meeting, which we also covered for GBR. Stories like this need to be shouted from the rooftops by the racing industry. So many thoroughbreds go on to have amazing lives after racing.

K&M Racing

Before the big meeting at Cheltenham we headed to K&M Racing to catch their thoughts on a few of their runners. Let’s just say they had a very good result at Cheltenham — but more about that later… The ‘K&M Mercury’ is well worth watching; Graeme runs through all of the runners and their chances, usually very accurately.

Secure Impact

I was delighted to get a call from my friend James Lyne to book us in for a job for Secure Impact. James is an incredible person — talented, clever, and a big inspiration of mine. Quite honestly, I don’t know if our business would be where it is today without James’ help and support. We went to film a few videos; they are always one-take wonders (even without a script). I think James must have a teleprompter built into his head — he delivers pieces to camera with ease. We’ve worked together for nearly a decade now and it’s always great to catch up.

Cheltenham x GBR

Cheltenham’s Paddy Power Meeting (November Meeting) is one of my highlights of the year — three days of thrilling action from the best racecourse in the world. We were there on the Saturday filming for GBR with Molly and ‘Neil’. The ROR parade was heart-warming to watch. Past champions such as Melon, Paisley Park and Coneygree were in attendance and all looked great. The star of the show for us, though, was ‘Neil’ (Not At Present) who was really pointing his toes — definitely a dressage horse. Molly has worked so hard and has done a fantastic job.

GBR x Alan Johns x Nico de Boinville

From Cheltenham onto Newbury, another favourite course of mine. Newbury hosted their gallop morning and although many horses galloped, all eyes were on one. Constitution Hill did his final bit of work before heading to the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle. Our assignment at Newbury was to film a nice little feature with Alan Johns and Nico de Boinville. You will see that soon — it’s currently in the editing studio with Billie. GBR have some interesting concepts for us to film at the moment and are leading the way with racing content and we really love creating them. Nico is an interesting guy; the pressure of riding some of the nation’s most loved horses every weekend doesn’t seem to faze him. He speaks more about it in the feature!

BASC

The day after Newbury we were off to Rossett, to BASC headquarters, to film parts of their deer management course. I didn’t realise how many different species of deer there were in the UK — do you know? The ones that we see near us are mainly muntjac. I’ve had a few near misses with muntjac, but thankfully haven’t hit one yet. They dart out of the hedges when I’m driving to yards early in the morning. Filming with BASC was day two of three filming days in a row for us — lots of miles covered and long days.

BBC (again)

The third and final day was back in Bristol for the BBC. We had help from Stan, who joined us as a runner for the day. Again, another successful shoot, and that wrapped the project. We really enjoyed working with Orso Publishing on this.

GBR x Chris Hughes x Freddie Gingell

Our last week of November 2025 kicked off with a trip down to Ditcheat, home to 14 time Champion Trainer, Paul Nicholls. Here we filmed another exciting project for GBR where Chris Hughes dusted off his riding boots to feature in some great ride-along content with last season's Champion Conditional Jockey, Freddie Gingell. Our good friend and trusted camera operator, Sonny Mackay, joined us on this to help capture as much great footage as possible. We can’t wait to see this one come together!

What have we been up to?

Onto what the team has been up to…

Cheltenham was the focus. Brooke and I both attended on the Friday, which turned out to be a total washout. It did, however, become a really fun day! I braved the weather to see Jonbon in the paddock; by the time I got back into the bar I was soaked through. Brooke was having a very different day — tucking into a three-course meal in Owners and Trainers. How the other half live, eh?

The highlight at Cheltenham was definitely seeing Marble Sands dominate a storing field to provide K&M Racing and owners David and Jackie Adams with a first Cheltenham winner. A lovely horse, lovely people and very much deserved. I remember ‘Marty’ as a 3yo when I started working for Graeme McPherson.

Pete joined me on Saturday. After filming, we had a day out and I finally backed a couple of winners. A welcome change of luck.

Billie has been busy relaxing in her new sauna. Don’t stay in there too long, Billie — we have plenty more edits coming your way! To be fair to Billie, any time she gets to relax is very much deserved.

Talking of relaxing, I’m currently in Brugge, attending Christmas markets, drinking strong beers and eating chips. Emily and I are joined by our friends Will and Annabel. A welcome break.

Pete had a fun, solo day out at Hereford on Tuesday to watch our company horse, Leave Her to Me, who had her first run of the winter. She got around safely and will definitely come on from the run. We look forward to a team outing with her very soon!

Christmas is on the horizon. Brooke especially has been excited to decorate the office along with Billie and Pete who are also desperate to turn the office into a winter wonderland. I personally would rather leave it. Yes, I’m basically the Grinch. I do actually enjoy Christmas, but the plastic tack that goes along with it isn’t for me. Mulled wine, good food and better company are what get me into the spirit. Love Actually is one of my favourite films, so I’ll be watching that for sure.

December looks like another mad month, but we really are trying to hold off some time around Christmas to spend with family and friends. That’s the most important thing!

Thanks for reading and best wishes,

Louis, Pete, Billie and Brooke x
