June has arrived meaning we are officially 6 months into the year, how fast has that come around?
Although time does fly when you’re having fun, and looking back at 2026 so far, we really have had some great days at CFC and this month has certainly followed suit. We've worked on a fantastic mix of racing and corporate projects over the last few weeks and with the key collection for our new office around the corner, we are super excited to start the next chapter!
The Jockey Club – Cheltenham Racecourse
We started the month on a local shoot back at Cheltenham Racecourse, with myself and Amelia on site to capture more footage of their new drainage system as it continues to progress. It’s always hugely encouraging to see how much work and time goes into keeping both the horses and jockeys safe on the track and The Jockey Club’s dedication to the project really shows throughout. We can’t wait to be back there watching the racing with a pint of Guinness at the William Hill Showcase meeting in October.
Perth – Gold Cup Day
There was no rest for the wicked as Pete and I set off early on Saturday morning up to Perth ahead of their Gold Cup Day. We dined out in a nearby town that evening at Divino’s, a lovely little Italian restaurant – loading up on carbs was exactly what we needed after a 7 hour drive. Arriving at the racecourse the following day, I was delighted to see they had the scones back in stock in the café, so I opted for probably the biggest scone I’ve ever seen in my life for breakfast. Clotted cream first, then jam is the only way to do it (Brooke will dispute this method…)!
We spent the day filming content around the course and editing reels on-site to keep their social channels updated. The Gold Cup Day is one of Perth’s highlights in their calendar, so it was a pleasure to be capturing it. It was also great to see The Real Whacker on course — a proper legend of a horse and always brilliant to see him up close. As always, it was brilliant working with the team up there and catching up with Georgie Wood and Kitty Waddell, who always make us feel so welcome. I think Perth continues to be one of our favourite tracks. The atmosphere on Gold Cup Day was fantastic and we’re already looking forward to heading back in July for their Family Day.
KERR Office Group - London
The following week, we headed into the big smoke for the day to film a project for Kerr, who are developing an office in a prime-located building right next to St Paul’s Cathedral. We’ll be filming the progress of this space to capture the incredible transformation being carried out. We were looked after by Sophie Green, who we originally met a couple of years ago while working at The Game Fair, so it was really nice to catch up with her again.
Filming in London is never the easiest, especially with the amount of kit we carry in our large, (very non ULEZ compliant) truck… Something which definitely tested Pete’s stress levels and parallel parking skills throughout the day. We did however manage to squeeze in some food at the pub next door. One thing I will say is you are spoilt for choice on lunch stops in London, IF you can be bothered to queue. Projects like this are always really enjoyable to film though, as it’s great to see a vision come to life. We look forward to returning to film the finished article over the upcoming weeks.
Mackcontent - Injured Jockeys Fund x Graham Lee and Jack Berry
Next up was a trip to Yorkshire to film Jack Berry for Mackcontent on behalf of the Injured Jockeys Fund. It was honestly one of my favourite shoots of all time. Jack is a pretty amazing man who has been involved in racing since forever and you’d never know his age looking at him, he’s still as sharp as ever! More importantly, he’s extremely dedicated to raising money and supporting the IJF, where he serves as Vice President.
We spent the morning filming around his home, which is like a bit of a museum in itself. The walls are covered in memorabilia and there are little gems from a lifetime in racing everywhere you look. We also got to meet his variety of animals, one of them being a horse who is coincidently named “Forever Louie” – sadly no shares available for me to purchase! We were then treated to a two-course lunch cooked by Jack’s lovely wife Jo, including a delicious stew, which was very much appreciated after a busy morning.
The second half of the day was spent visiting Graham Lee and his family, which was equally brilliant. It was really special to hear Graham talk about his incredible career, including winning the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot on Trip To Paris back in 2015, which is still a fascinating story. Overall, it was a really stand out day for us, meeting two huge names from the racing world and getting to listen to their stories first hand and seeing the immense passion they both hold for the sport.
Severn Valve – QU Bristol Studios
Our penultimate shoot of the month was for Severn Valve where we booked green screen space at QU Studios. Their studios are conveniently situated underground meaning we managed to keep cool throughout the day, the team there always do a great job of looking after us! Pete actually went to Uni in Bristol so I think it’s always a nice trip down memory lane for him. Unfortunately, it is far from one of my favourite places to visit and this particular visit was tainted with the worst bacon roll I have ever had in my life. That being said, we had a successful shoot filming a handful of the company’s CEO’s and it was great to properly meet Natalie Clarke, Severn Valve’s Communications manager.
Cornbury House Horse Trials – Partners Day
The hottest day so far on record in June was spent filming at Cornbury House for their Partners Day. This was a chance to showcase the incredible grounds alongside their partners and to give a sneak peak of what is in store ahead of the Horse Trials in September. It was a really beautiful location and frankly, we were spoiled for choice with nice shots as everywhere you turned had a gorgeous backdrop. Some big names were in attendance and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy the event.
We were reunited with Georgie Wood who is always great to work alongside. Zara Best also joined us to head the photography and we can’t wait to get her onboard again soon. Brooke had broken out in a pretty nasty reaction from brushing past some Giant Hogweed the previous day, which was far from ideal in the heat, but we kept moaning to a minimum and stayed well watered from our CFC cool box (best purchase of 2026 I think). We were also very kindly fed some seriously yummy food from Cornbury’s “Endless Lunch”. It was then back to the office for Pete and I to jump straight into editing the first batch of reels.. Keep a look out for them on Cornbury’s socials!
Looking Ahead
There’s been plenty going on away from work this month too. Like many across the country, we’ve found ourselves keeping a close eye on the FIFA World Cup. I went into the tournament full of optimism and after seeing Croatia off in a 4-2 thriller, I was convinced that football was coming home. However, a disappointing result against Ghana and a slow performance against Panama have thrown some doubts into my mind.
I’ve had a pretty memorable month thanks to my recently purchased filly, Mademoiselle Belle, who had her first run at York in a charity race. We didn’t think she’d see out the one-mile trip, having never run further than 6f, but she was impeccably behaved and gave our friend Mary Maude a really good spin - turning for home in front at York must have been a buzz! She came back safe and sound and most importantly got some valuable experience under her belt, she ran a week later at Windsor and will hopefully carry on running every two weeks all summer long.
This is the first year in a long time that I’ve sadly missed the Royal meeting at Ascot after being totally wiped out by flu, but editing duties called and after one afternoon recovering, it was back to it for me. The meeting did look wonderful though, Ascot have done a marvellous job with marketing the Royal Meeting.
Meanwhile, Pete has been busy selling his life’s possessions at local carboot sales with his partner, Leanne. Their allotment is coming along nicely too. What started as a few vegetables and a bit of enthusiasm is quickly turning into a full-time commitment, especially with the recent heatwave. Thankfully, the hard work is paying off with his courgettes and lettuces thriving!
Billie managed to squeeze in a well-earned holiday this month, heading off to Pembrokeshire in her camper van with Mani in tow, where she and her partner spent a few days exploring the coastline and making the most of a break from the usual routine. Mani absolutely loved the adventure and was in his element discovering new places, although we’re not sure he was quite ready to come home when the trip came to an end.
Brooke has mentioned a few times how June is always her “busiest month of the year” and she wasn’t lying! Starting with being treated to hospitality at the Epsom Derby, two 2 day wedding’s, two days out at Royal Ascot, hosting a few bbq’s and her Birthday in between- it’s safe to say she has definitely recharged her social battery! Some summery walks with her partner were thrown in for downtime… Although I think she’ll be avoiding the poisonous plants in future!
Amelia successfully completed her first small project for a client. She also enjoyed a trip back to Cheshire to visit family and meet Duke and Earl, the newest additions to the family.
With animals, football and allotment duties keeping us all occupied and our new office move imminent, we’re very much looking forward to July… Here's hoping the sunshine sticks around and England can give us something to cheer about!
